Gemma & Sam – Rustic Somerset Wedding

Huntstile Organic Farm Wedding Photography, Somerset

Got an absolute banger of a wedding to share here, so strap in, grab a beverage of choice and read on. Gemma & Sam got married in the absolute splendour of Huntstile Organic Farm in deepest Somerset back during September of last year (yes, yes, a bit behind on my blogging)!!

Their wedding had everything, dogs, tractors, archery and plenty of funny moments which all combined into one big extravaganza.

When I rocked up, I went to take a couple of images of Gemma getting ready, and then proceeded to jump into an old Defender, to head to the ceremony field. The ceremony took place upon a hill just above the farm, with views across the rolling Quantock Hills and beyond, it definitely ranked as one of the most picturesque ceremony spaces I’ve ever shot at, all the guests were sat on hay bales an it was rustic as fuck. It was fab to work again with Carol, The Somerset Celebrant, she always provides a really heartfelt service, completing the ceremony with a traditional Pagan handfasting, it’s where the ‘tie the knot’ saying comes from did you know?

We all made the trip back to the farm on the tractor again, me trying not to either a. fall off, or b. drop my camera, I survived both counts.

It was then onto a healthy mix or canape’s, drink, doggie cuddles, and lawn games, all washed down with a heavy dose of laughter and general high jinx. Yes I got distracted by Parker the Beagle and the lovely old staffy who was present, but what a cute distraction they were!

Someone had the bright idea of giving the happy couple a bow and arrow set, so obviously from this there was a casual, if slightly dangerous, quick game of archery to enjoy. Unlike King Harold, I survived without an arrow in my eye (and yes history buffs, I know it probably wasn’t him in the Bayeux tapestry, but it’s still a good yarn…)!

Anyway, enough of my wittering, take a look at the pics! If you’re interested in having me along as your photographer/dog carer do please get in touch, tell me all about your day and we’ll get you booked in.
