Claire & Chris – Celtic Manor, Cardiff, Wales, Wedding Photographer

What strange times we are living in right now, weddings postponed and everyone spending way too much time eating and drinking, or is that just me!?! Anyway, how’s about a new wedding to take a look at? Last year I was contacted by Claire and Chris to be their Celtic Manor wedding photographer. For those who don’t know, Celtic Manor is the massive hotel just off the M4 as you head towards Cardiff, you really can’t miss it!

When I arrived I wandered up to Claire’s room where she was getting ready with her awesome sons and daughter, together with her maid of honor. What a room full of activity it was! There was makeup being applied, half naked hairdressers moving wedding dresses and kids playing hide and seek.

Once Claire had got ready, it was time to go and get married. The ceremony was over in a flash and with that, the drinking and merriment commenced! The Welsh love to have a good time, no one taking themselves seriously and getting stuck into having a great time. I absolutely LOVE this part of weddings, the serious part is done and dusted and it allows everyone to let their hair down and be themselves. From a photography stand point, its the part of the day which I really enjoy. By this time, everyone has relaxed, and are just concentrating on having a good laugh. It allows me to chat to people and get to know them a bit. I’m not one of those robot types who just takes photographs like a machine, I love to chat to people, get to know them a bit, share a few jokes, it really makes my photographs what they are.

The speeches and dancing followed on, again, these were full of joy, with a bit of emotion also chucked in. Claire and Chris’ day really was so much fun!
