The Paintworks Bristol Wedding – Luke & Rach

Cast your minds back to just before the start of the first lockdown in 2020, Luke & Rach’s wedding was the last one I shot before the country went into lockdown! I’ve known Luke for many years, having worked with him in the past, so was suitably chuffed when he asked me to photograph his big day at The Paintworks in Bristol. I’ve photographed a few weddings at the Paintworks and love it there, some really quirky little areas and is a cracking space to have wedding.

I started my day photographing Rach and her mates getting ready, the usual mix of nerves and excitement was in the air, presenting me with many lovely moments to photograph. My number one moment came when one or Rach’s bridesmaids proceeded to chop off the top of a champagne bottle with a large knife, respect for that and not completely destroying the entire bottle!

On from photographing the champagne bottle chopping escapade I headed to Luke’s place to photograph him and his crew getting set up for the day. The vibe here was similar to the girls’ place, although there was a touch more testosterone in the air with poses involving power tools the order of the day!

Anyway, once the getting readies were done, we all headed to The Paintworks for the actual wedding itself! It was fab, a relaxed venue always means a relaxed wedding, Luke and Rach’s day was just that. The drinks flowed and everyone let their hair down and had a bloody good day! The party into the evening was banging, with everyone getting on the dance floor and having a right good old knees up!
