Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham Documentary Wedding Photographer – Martyn & Suzanne

Martyn & Suzanne asked me to be their Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham Documentary Wedding Photographer back in the dark days of 2018, fast forward to last summer and I was making the journey up from Bath to this most beautiful of wedding venues.

Manor By the Lake is an absolutely stunning old Victorian manor house in the Cotswolds and is dripping with character and charm. As a Bath wedding photographer I am used to photographing at many stunning venues, however, Manor By the Lake is one of the most beautiful around. Not only that, it’s run extremely well, the staff were all wonderfully helpful, and helped the wedding day run as smoothly as something very smooth, oh and the food is rather nice as well!

I started my day off by photographing Suzanne and her bride tribe getting ready in the stunning bridal suite, this room was a delight to photograph in, with shed loads of natural light spilling in through the massive windows. Make up was provided by the wonderful Rachel from Be Beauty in Keynsham, I have worked with Rachel on a good few occasions, and not only is she an awesome make-up artist, she’s also a really good laugh to be around, just what is needed to settle any pre-wedding nerves.

I managed to nip downstairs to catch Martyn getting ready. He was full of laughs and jokes and was in super high spirits, good lad! Once everyone was suitably suited, booted and everything else, we all headed outside to the beautiful gardens for the wedding ceremony. I’ve photographed weddings at Manor by the Lake a few times, and have yet to photograph one inside, the weather gods obviously have a soft spot for the place!

After the formalities were done and dusted it was time to get on with the partying! And what a party it was, there were folks playing with fire, amazing speeches, epic dancing and a jolly good laugh to top it all off!
