Josie & Sam – Beautifully relaxed Bristol wedding

I’ve shot many, many weddings over the years, and have seen most things. However…Josie & Sam’s wedding brought something different to the party…my first ever bride who was dressed in a bin bag! Read on to see what the hell was going on at this quirky, unique wedding at The Rising Sun, Pensford, Bristol.

It all started off relatively normal, Josie & Sam’s church service taking place in the stunning Church of St Margaret, Queen Charlton, Keynsham. The first signs that this wedding was going to be just a tad different was when Josie drove herself to the church in her absolutely stunning Mini Countryman. What a beauty of a machine! Following Josie, the bridesmaids rocked up with Josie & Sam’s dogs, in a Landrover Defender, again, ticking all the awesome boxes!

The church service was a beautiful little service, full of emotion, and was enjoyed by all. Even by a rather smashing little staffy, who sat nicely through the whole service and was overall, a very good boy!

Once the formalities were done and dusted, it was outside for some confetti chucking, hugging and general milling around. We all headed off then to The Rising Sun pub in Pensford, Bristol. A rather charming village pub which looks onto rolling fields…and a massive viaduct!

A lush little reception was set up in their gardens, where everyone kicked back and enjoyed the chilled out vibes that was in abundance. Now…this is where things changed from the usual wedding day…Josie & Sam had planned for the entire wedding party to go for a walk in the countryside. How bloody cool is that!? So, without further ado, everyone started donning their finest walking kit and off we went. Oh…and what do you do if you want to stop your wedding dress getting muddy? Rip open a massive black bin bag and wear it over your dress…obvious really!
