“Having Ian at our wedding and taking such personal and intimate photos of us and our families and friends, was like sharing our special day with an old friend who’d known us for years. Thank you, thank you Ian for our stunning photos.”
Llys Meddyg, in Newport, Wales is a venue that is very close to my heart, it was the location of one of my very first weddings I’d photographed from many years ago. When an email came through from Mike and Nicki asking me to be their wedding photographer at Llys Meddyg, I couldn’t have been happier. It’s the most perfect of venues, set in a lovely little Pembrokeshire village, it’s one of those venues where everything is done right!
Mike and Nicki wanted me to photograph the preparations, right through to the speeches, a enough time to be able to properly tell the story of their big day. The preparations started off with both Mike and Nicki getting ready together, a lovely touch, together with their little boys, who were bundles of mishief all day! Oh, and Nicki’s dress, it was only made my Mike’s mum! An amazing creation and with a real emotional connection that really brought the families together.
The ceremony took place outside, a rare treat in Wales, with the guests sat down in the beautiful gardens, full of summer flowers and bees busily going about their work, it was the perfect location! The drinks reception followed, with the kids at the wedding running around and exploring all the hidden places the garden had to offer.
Now, the speeches, these were properly emotional. Nicki is from Australia, so a lot of her mates couldn’t make it over. No bother though, as they actually created an amazing video message to show Nicki during the speeches, pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
If you are getting married at Llys Meddyg and were looking for a photographer, drop me a line.
