Towards the end of last year I headed to the Cotswolds to be the wedding photographer at Kingscote Barn in Gloucestershire for Tom & Tracy’s wedding. I’ve known Tracy for many years, our paths having crossed across an architectural practice in Bristol, so was great to be reacquainted again.Kingscote Barn is a beautiful venue, nestling amongst the gorgeous rolling Cotswold hills just outside Tetbury. It’s one of those venues that really suit a laid back type of wedding, which is lucky, as that’s exactly what Tracy and Tom’s big day was all about, in bucketloads!
My day started with me making my way over to Tracy’s parents house in Dursley. When I arrived, preparations were already in full swing, with Tracy, her bridesmaids and flower girls all excitedly putting the finishing touches to their hair and makeup. Whilst the girls were all doing their thing, Tracy’s dad was busy putting the finishing touches to his beautiful Rover P6, which he’d drive Tracy to the barn in. He’d lovingly restored, the journey to the barn being her maiden voyage! What a beautiful machine she was! The attention to detail that went into her restoration was mind blowing, a real labour of love.
Once everyone was suitably suited/dressed/booted/shoed, we all made our way over to the barn for the festivities to commence. Tom was taking everything in his stride and seemed 100% relaxed, although I suspect deep down a touch of the butterflies might have been there somewhere, call it photographers intuition!
Their beautiful ceremony followed, full of heart warming words and a real cosy atmosphere. Following on was a fest of canapés and champagne! This is a great time at any wedding, everyone is starting to let their hair down, the first set of formalities are over and everyone just wants to get some food and drink in them and hug it out!
We popped out for a couple of super relaxed formal shots. Tom and Trace definitely didn’t take themselves too seriously, which made these shots all the more fun.
The rest of their way was as fun as ever, plenty of lovely moments for a documentary wedding photographer such as myself to photograph. I love these small, intimate weddings. They are so rewarding to photograph and it really feels like you are part of the day.
The day finished with a lush bit of sparkler action outside, followed by everyone laying down some moves on the dancefloor!
If you like my style of hands-off wedding photography and are getting married at Kingscote Farm, or anywhere else in the Cotswolds or South West, do please drop me a line to find out more information.
Very well documented! Love the colours. It looks like a great and fun wedding!
