I’ve been neglecting this blog for too long, with good reason, 2017 has been a busy year, a house move, Emrys growing up and loads of lovely weddings! However, with the wedding season finally calming down, it gives me the opportunity to start sharing some of the beautiful weddings I’ve photographed this year.
First up is Louise and Ian’s big day courtesy of Welsh Green Weddings at the Ceridwen Centre from back when the days were long and the sun was bright! Their wedding was a truly international affair, with Louise hailing from Brazil, and Ian coming from equally glamorous, if a little colder, Neath!
The Ceridwen Centre hosts eco-friendly, natural and alternative weddings, a venue I’ve shot at before a couple of times, it’s a beautiful place in which to say your ‘I do’s’. Based in West Wales, The Ceridwen Centre rocks out solar power, donkeys and has a heartfelt respect for the Welsh countryside. As a wedding photographer it’s a venue I always love photographing, with its gypsy caravan, flowing meadows, and the most gorgeous tipi for the reception, it delivers every time.
Upon my arrival I headed to the on-site accommodation where Louise was getting ready. The atmosphere was relaxed, but with a touch of nerves thrown in. I keep myself very low key at this stage in the day, the last thing that’s needed is a photographer who is fussing about! Her best friend was doing her make-up, the first time she’d ever done wedding make-up, you’d never know though, she did an amazing job!
Onto the ceremony which took place in an awesomely beautiful oak gazebo set in the gardens. It is such a sedate, peaceful place to saw your vows, surrounded by nature and with your favourite people close by, pretty ideal if you ask me!
Following the ceremony, table tennis, drinks, a most scrumptious bbq, heartfelt speeches, dancing and lawn games followed, the dancing, wow, a mix of Latin moves with Welsh exuberance certainly made for some good dance floor action!
Take a look at some of my favourite images from the day. Don’t forget, if you are planning your big day at the Ceridwen Centre, get in touch.
