Ian was our wedding photographer at Bishopstrow House in Warminster. From the minute we booked him, I knew we would have amazing pictures and we have so many. He is such a friendly and hard working photographer, he captures every moment without you knowing but will meet any specific requirements at the same time.
I always feel a bit strange photographing weddings of people I know, it kinda throws me a bit as I’m generally used to turning up at weddings without knowing anyone. However, this wasn’t the case with Adam and Shena’s day when I was the wedding photographer at Bishopstrow House over in the depths of Wiltshire. I know the both of them through my brother-in-law, lovely folks, both of them, together with their two little lads they make up an awesome little family.
Anyway, after a delightful drive through the rolling Wiltshire countryside I arrived to photograph Shena getting ready with her make-up artist, the supremely talented Shari Knowles doing her thing with her brushes and powders. As is always the case with this stage of the wedding day, there was a mixture of nerves and excitement filling the air. Make-up being applied, dresses being put on, shoes slid on, all the final things before everyone heads off to do the whole marrying thing.
One word on Adam and Shena’s day…it was hot…and I mean, really hot!! There’s a swimming pool on the grounds of the house and it crossed my mind more than once to dive in, I mean, I could have still got some cracking photos being sat in the pool I reckon! (I didn’t by the way, as I’m far too professional for such high jinx!)
Anyway, I digress…back to the wedding! The lovely, intimate ceremony was followed by the drinking of drinks and the laughing of laughter, this was all performed before heading into the meal. The meal was served up by a merry band of waiters and waitresses who, unbeknown to 99% of the wedding party were also signers! Aka singing waiters! These guys were from 1st Call Singing Waiters and were bloody awesome! I’ve worked with singing waiters before and they never fail to get the whole room pumped!
Following the tomfoolery of the waiters that sang, we had the speeches, where bizarrely, a life-size cardboard version of the groom made an appearance, definitely a first! The rest of the day was a mixture of dancing, laughter, the drinking of horrendous looking cocktails for Adam and then the dancing. The perfect day!
