Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, this place was amazing for wedding photography, one of my favorite venues ever! Back in May this year I made the short hop from Bristol to Malmesbury to cover Georgia and Dan’s lovely wedding at the Abbey House Gardens. Georgia and Dan booked me after I had covered one of their best mates’ weddings back in 2011, always nice to go to a wedding where there are so many familiar faces and where banter is freely exchanged.
To start with I headed over to Dan’s parents place in Bristol to cover Dan and his parents enjoying a nice sunny morning outside, this also presented me with the opportunity to photograph Dan on his Vespa which was his wedding present from Georgia (lucky bloke!)
On from Bristol it was over to Malmesbury in Wiltshire to cover Georgia getting ready at the Old Bell Hotel, which is apparently England’s oldest hotel, it was just like a Premier Inn…in no way at all, this place was lush, a proper building with proper nooks and crannies at every turn! It’s always great to cover the preparation stage of a wedding, there’s always a real buzz in the air, a sense of nervous excitement that is always great to capture. On from the preparations it was to the gardens for the ceremony and reception. One of my favourite venues ever this one, and that’s got nothing to do with the fact that there was a resident tortoise there called Brutus!
An epic day full of emotion and happiness, all washed down with a generous dose of beautiful food and drink. Music for the day was supplied by the uber talented Dan Greenaway, this dude has the skills, give him a guitar and a cup of tea and he’ll strum and sing away happily, a perfect accompaniment to the overall vibe of Dan and Georgia’s wedding.
Enough of the waffle, here are some photos!
