I’m slowly catching up with my blog backlog, wedding season is coming to end now, so hopefully I can get back up to date the lovely weddings that are waiting in the wings. First up is Chris and Emma’s big day. They asked me to be their wedding photographer for their big day in The Corran, a lush venue which is located in Carmarthen, a short drive from the greatest city in the UK, Swansea (that view might be biased).
Growing up just outside Swansea, I was always aware of the works of the famous poet Dylan Thomas, his slightly leftfield approach to story telling always hit a chord with me when I was growing up. So it was with a real sense of excitement that saw me make the trip over to Laugharne, just outside Carmarthen, where he spent the last four years of his life and where he penned a lot of his major works. Oh…you get a special reward if you spot Dylan in one of the images in the blog post! 🙂
Chris and Emma’s wedding took place in The Corran Resort and Spa, which is set in the marshlands in Laugharne. A beautiful venue just off the shoreline of Carmarthen Bay. They both fully embraced my style of documentary, story telling wedding photography, letting me tell the story of their day, without many formal photos, the perfect mix!
Their day was such fucking good laugh! Seriously! The classic Welsh sense of ‘having a good laugh at all times’ was in abundance, making for some great moments. I would never say wedding photography is super easy, but when everyone is letting their hair down and having a good time it definitely makes things easier! Oh, and as a sidenote, everyone made me feel so welcome, I felt like I was one of the family at the end of it.
Please take a look below at some of my favourite images of Chris and Emma’s day. If you are getting married at The Corran over in West Wales, please drop me a line.
